Pillows Hotels

Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at the Park opened in November 2022 and is our first 5-star hotel. The hotel is located in the green Oosterpark in Amsterdam East. The hotel has already won several awards and achieved a #1 ranking on TripAdvisor within a year and 3 months of opening, leaving behind more than 400 other hotels in the Dutch capital.

The ambitions for this hotel are high! Therefore, we are looking for talented colleagues who only want to be among the very best, including Restaurant Hosts.

Main purpose of the position:

  • Developing and maintaining an account base within the B2B market by application of professional skills.
  • Responsible for generating revenue and new business opportunities for Pillows Maurits at the Park and associated restaurants VanOost, Spring Café & Brasserie and the Shaffy Restobar.
  • Responsible to achieve professional rapport within the local business community.
  • “Hands on” manager, actively involved in securing, qualifying, and following up on leads to book specific business.
  • To assist the guests efficiently, courteously, and professionally and lead by example.

 

What are you going to do as a Sales Manager?

  • Assists with development of the hotel’s sales plan based on the hotel’s position and strengths within managed market segment.
  • Analyses the competition’s market position, strengths & weaknesses for managed market segment and implements directs sales activities
  • Manages key accounts, key prospects and identifies key suspects in the managed market segments. 
  • Is familiar with all ‘business’ in the market in the managed market segments, where that ‘business’ stays and why.
  • Identifies and maintains constant communication with the hotel’s key accounts in the managed market segments.
  • Actively increases revenue through outside sales calls, telemarketing, in-house sales calls etc. Obtaining a minimum of 5 sales calls per week.
  • Organises sales promotional activities (blitzes, shows, trips, telemarketing etc) in line with budget, hotel’s demands and within managed market segments.
  • Manages projects under the direction of the Director of Sales.
  • Carries out focused and innovate promotional activity e.g., fam trips, educational site inspections, mailings, and incentives.
  • Within established parameters, quote and negotiate prices with clients on all levels, and draw up contracts to close the transaction.  
  • Reports on managed accounts, markets, and activities.
  • Updates CRM daily and accurately.
  • Attends and actively participates in commercial meetings. 
  • After sales activities.
  • Familiar with and performs according to the hotels and departments vision and mission statement.
  • Always represent Pillows Maurits at the Park in appropriate manner, following company guidelines, hygiene standards and dress code.

 

MEETINGS TO ATTEND

  • Attend monthly commercial meeting.
  • Attend all staff meeting (twice a year)
  • Attend bi – weekly meeting to report on performance.
  • Deliverables on a weekly basis.

 

MONTHLY DUTIES

  • Achieving monthly rooms and banquet budgets.
  • Achieving monthly sales calls goals.

Who are you?

  • Fluent in English both verbal and written; Dutch and one other language is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must possess basic mathematical/computational ability
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility (working hours, days of the week etc)
  • Willing and able to travel.
  • Independent nature.
  • Knowledge of all departments of the hotel
  • Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, the Sales & Catering program Opera, and e-mail.
