Tim - Deputy Manager

My name is Tim, 29 years old and live in the centre of Deventer. I have been working for Pillows Hotels since October 2017. Here I started as an itinerant worker for 3 days a week, but pretty soon the FO Manager turned out not to return from maternity leave and I gradually got more duties and responsibilities. In late summer 2020, I got the opportunity to move to Pillows Hotels in Zwolle in the position of Front Office Manager and enjoyed working there for 1.5 years. As of January 2022, I am back on the 'old' nest, but this time in the position of Deputy Manager.

Career

I started working in a hostel as an internship when I was 15 and have worked in all types of hotels until Pillows Hotels. From hostel to 5-star and both front of house and waitressing. At some point, I wanted to work closer to home and saw that they were looking for a Front Office employee at Pillows Hotels Deventer. I chose this because the hotel and the people gave me a good feeling during the introductory interviews. The hotel is of course also in a breathtaking location. During my time at Pillows, I did the high hotel school part-time, so I was able to immediately put what I had learned into practice. Of course enormously supported by the guidance and rock-solid confidence of Miranda (General Manager). I also believe in Pillows' core values of being ambitious, doing it together and wanting to be the very best together. That makes it a great company to work for.
