About the vacancy:

It’s the winter of 2017. The first Pillows Hotels opens next to the Vondelpark in Amsterdam. The concept where everything revolves around the guest works. Within a year we are in the TripAdvisors top 5 of the city. All the hotels following also obtain high rankings and mentions in the Bib Gourmand and GaultMillau.

In the autumn of 2022, we've opened our 6th hotel. With this 5-star hotel at the Oosterpark in Amsterdam, ambitions are high! Therefore, we are looking for an enthusiastic Pastry Chef to support our kitchen team.

Your role.
As a Pastry Chef you are responsible for operating the pastry section of the kitchen of our different outlets to deliver an excellent Guest experience. In this role you would also be required to plan production and develop seasonal offerings.

• Assist running the pastry section of the kitchen
• Ensure excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings
• Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation
• Plan production to facilitate daily requirements
• Develop appropriate seasonal menu offerings
• Manage food cost controls to contribute to F&B revenue
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety regulations

Who are you?
To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow to our high standards.

• Previous Pastry Chef experience for about a minimum of 3-5 years.
• Approaches pastry in a creative and high luxury way.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Committed to delivering a high level of customer service.
• Excellent planning and organising skills
• Dedicated to the delivery of exceptional service and continuous improvement of the pastry

The newly opened Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at the Park is located in the eastern part of Amsterdam city centre, adjacent to Oosterpark.

The hotel has 88 rooms, various (meeting) salons, a wellness and several F&B outlets. From our easy chic restaurant at the park with a large terrace in the green, a rum library, a (rooftop) bar and a restaurant with star ambition.
